This Tuesday (19) morning, directors of the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce met with Dubai Exports CEO Saed Al Awadi in Dubai World Centre. Dubai Export is the government body that promotes exports from companies in that emirate and the CEO said that, since his first visit to Brazil, in 2010, the sales of products from Dubai to Brazil have doubled. Dubai Exports often promotes trips to Brazil with delegations formed by local businessmen searching for businesses.
“We visit approximately six Brazilian cities at least once a year, and this year we intend to take 20 companies,” said Al Awadi. Dubai Exports helps five to ten thousand companies from the emirate to enter the international market. Around four years ago, the body opened an office in São Paulo that helps companies to enter the Brazilian retail market.
Present in the meeting with Al Awadi were the president of the Management Council of the Arab Brazilian Chamber, Walid Yazigi, the vice-president of foreign affairs Osmar Chohfi, the vice-president of foreign trade Ruy Cury, treasurer Nahid Chicani, directors William Atui, and Mohamad Abdouni Neto, in addition to the entity’s government affairs manager Fernanda Baltazar, and the head of the Arab Brazilian Chamber international office in Dubai, Rafael Solimeo. The specialist of the exports department in Dubai Exports to Brazil, Zilda Rosa, was also in the meeting.
Relations between Brazil and the emirate, the United Arab Emirates and the Arab Gulf were discussed. “We have a diversified team, including people from all over the world, and we are also diversifying our economy more and more. We are not just oil, we have great investments in commerce, communication and logistics,” said Al Awadi.
“A partnership between Dubai Exports and the Arab Brazilian Chamber is already in place, and we are now discussing ways to reinforce our relations and expand trade between Brazil and the UAE, which already is quite significant,” Osmar Chohfi told ANBA.
